At Tarramba, our commitment to land stewardship goes well beyond cattle. Since partnering with AgriProve in 2022, we have been measuring and monetising the soil carbon sequestration across our land. We are also certified with Environmental Outcomes Verification (EOV).
Since 2018 our Howson Carbon Project has generated over 17,932 ACCUs, but our carbon farming initiative isn’t just about financial reward. We are truly committed to leaving the land better than we found it, and today the farm operates at beyond net-zero carbon intensity, sequestering more carbon than it emits each year.

The foundation of this is rotational grazing — carefully matching stocking rates to the carrying capacity of each paddock and allowing country the recovery time it needs. Alongside that, we've invested in legume and grass improvements to build biomass, keep carbon in the soil, and improve the long-term productivity of the land.
Tarramba is one of three properties across Australia selected to host a Meat and Livestock Australia Integrated R&D Producer Demonstration Site project, delivered in partnership with AgriProve. The six-year project is focused on understanding how soil carbon sequestration can reduce the carbon intensity of red meat enterprises and support the industry's carbon-neutral targets.

At Tarramba, the project will trial multi-species pastures using a range of management techniques — including different grazing approaches, sowing methods, soil ameliorants, and aeration — measured against a control plot. Soil carbon sampling uses AgriProve's innovative approach, combining annual one-metre soil core sampling, satellite imagery, and NIR Spectroscopy, alongside whole-farm carbon accounting under the Australian Government ACCU Scheme.
You can buy ACCUs directly from us. We also accept Bitcoin as payment for ACCUs. Send us an email to learn more.
